The Story

Sierra Vista Engineering (SVE) was formed to work on projects Ryan was actually passionate about. Yet it wasn’t until a few years in that we got the idea to reach out to trail contractors and truly pursue combining work and play. Now, half of our workload is traditional civil site development, and the other half is modern trail design and bike parks.

We look at engineering plans differently than traditional firms - flexibility in the field is always a good thing, and over-detailed, bloated plan sets are overrated. Our goal is to be a streamlined resource that bridges the gap between builders, riders, traditional land development clients, and reviewing agencies.

Sierra vista is Spanish for "mountain view", and is a nod to the West Coast ranges where Ryan has lived and worked most of his life. SVE’s schedule is built around exploring the outdoors. With a background spanning road touring, multi-day enduro racing, trail volunteer days, and navigating paths as a parent with kids and dogs - SVE provides designs from a versatile user perspective. When not at a desk, the team is very likely on trail or pulling kids around town in the bike trailer.
